My name is Toni Hall and I am the Career and Technical Education (CTE) coordinator for Information Technology in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools (CMS). CTE provides rigorous, relevant education that prepares youth and adults for a wide range of high-skill, high-demand, high-wage careers. CTE, formerly referred to as Vocational Education, developed as a partnership between employers and education to begin preparing students for the workforce. Although CTE addresses the needs of high-growth industries, fosters post-secondary completion, and significantly impacts the economy, few know what CTE is (www.acteonline.org).

This school year, CMS is planning to highlight CTE across the district throughout the month of February (CTE Month). One major event that will take place is our 2nd Annual CTE Expo (February 24th) which will be open to the public. Our expo will showcase the amazing things going on in CTE through the use of interactive exhibits, animated displays, and student demonstrations.

As biomedical science is highly integrated in Career and Technical Education, it would be a great honor to have the BioNetwork bus participate in our expo. Please let me know if this would be possible.
