Safety in Biomanufacturing Environments

This course provides the tools for understanding the importance of safety when working with chemical and biological hazards. Emphasis is placed on identification, receipt, handling, storage, labeling, use, reporting, cleanup, and disposal of these hazards and the consequences of failure to comply with the policies and regulations regarding their use. Upon completion, students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the proper identification and use of hazardous chemical or biological materials in compliance with regulatory standards. Course components include a safety overview, hazard communication, chemical and biological safety plan, employee training, hazardous safety, and a fire safety plan.
